Hear from some of our International Students

The teachers were excellent, always willing to help and even offer tutoring to me. The courses were excellent. They were not easy, but not impossible for me to manage by myself. So, (choosing) Citizens High School was one of the best decisions that I have made.

Neredys Cruz, CHS Puerto Rican Graduate

I think that a memorable moment was my first time I had to do a stop and discuss meeting with my professor of chemistry. I called her her on her number and it was like a call with a friend telling him what I learned. I really liked that.

Cristian Nita, CHS Romanian Graduate

This was a new way of studying for me. It was really hard, because my English was not the best. At some point I thought that I could not make it. I felt I was slowly giving up or that I was losing my strength. When I was feeling like that God put my family, friends, and you guys to help me and gave me the boost that I needed. Since then I said to myself “This is the road you have to go through if you want to get to the finish line and begin with your life”. So every day, even when I was not feeling my best, I tried a little bit, and step by step I was nearer to the goal. Now I can say that I crossed the finish line and I’m in my way to begin with my life.

Norhemis Aquino, CHS Graduate
2020 Graduates: Edyvette Perez and Abigail Pena

I would like to express my students and my gratitude for your program. Our students are challenged and growing in leaps and bounds using the curriculum you have recommended for them....The kindness, professionalism, and responsiveness of the Citizen's staff has been integral in our students' successes. Over 20 + years together we are tremendously appreciative...I strongly encourage other students and educators to use Citizens. As a teacher of more than 25 years, I have helped many students through the Citizens' programs.

Yes, CHS has a very simple international transfer credit process.  After you enroll in the program you will take our International Student Orientation course.  During this course it will provide instructions on how you will submit your transcripts in order to receive credit for those courses.

Yes, Citizens High School is regionally accredited through the MSACESS (Middle States Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools).  We are also nationally accredited by DEAC (Distance Education Accrediting Commission).  CHS has been nationally accredited for nearly 40 years, making us the second oldest active nationally accredited distance education high school in the United States.

Yes, while a CHS diploma does not guarantee acceptance into a specific college or university, our diploma is regionally accredited, and our credits are accepted at most public and private universities.  For international students interested in continuing their education at a 4-year institution, we strongly recommend enrollment in our College Diploma track and verifying the university will accept our credits.

All courses and materials for CHS are completed online.  The only exception to this policy will be in the science courses where hands-on experiments may be conducted using materials found around the home.

Check out our Tradition of Excellence page to see where our grads have attended college.

At time of sign up you will be required to give a credit/debit card.  This card will be charged every 30 days.

CHS is confident you will be satisfied with your choice in education.  Should you change your mind, CHS will refund your tuition according to the following refund policy per the requirements set forth by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission.  Our refund policy is designed for what is in the best interests of both student and parents.

Our courses are designed to be completed in 16 weeks, by taking one lesson per week.  By doubling or tripling the amount of lessons you complete each week, you can finish a course in little as 28 days.  It is up to you to set the pace that works best for your schedule.

Your CHS teachers are here to help!  You can reach out to your teacher via email, telephone, or text message.  On the home page of each course, each teacher provides their listed phone number, be prepared to leave a detailed voice message including your name, course, phone number, and a brief description of your specific question.  Teachers will return your phone call or email within two business days.  Typically, our response time is much faster, and our faculty are eager to support your success.

Yes, Citizens High School aids high school students looking to determine which courses they should take based on their post-high school plans.  By utilizing our Best Future Finder students can map their previous and current course schedule based on the previous courses they have completed and needing to take to earn their diploma.  This tool is free and open to all students.

Yes, all students who enroll with Citizens High School as a student will be provided a transcript.  Students who need a transcript from CHS can simply click on Request Transcript and receive a transcript from us.
