What Will You Learn?

  1. Students can learn any list of skills that they deem most essential in their life.  The choice of Certain life skills will be dependent on your life circumstances.
  2. Some key life skill areas are: Communication, decision making, problem solving, public speaking, critical thinking, negotiating, financial, and willingness to learn.
  3. Listening skills, writing skills, math, language skills, learning skills, and many others.

What Will You Learn?

  1. Students will learn the essential elements of information technology systems, including Microsoft, Adobe, Google and others. 
  2. From basic to advanced coding skills and computer programming preparing students for industry certifications. 
  3. Students will be challenged to take their projects developed in courses and apply them to real world applications.  

What Will You Learn?

  1. You will learn cooking skills, recipes, meal ideas, different presentation, nutrition, meal preparation techniques and all the core skills of cooking.
  2. Prepare 26 meals of your choice over one year. One meal every 2 weeks.
  3. Focus your meals on Italian, Mediterranean, Mexican, Grandma’s receipts, or on any cuisine area of your choice

  1. In this course the student and faculty select the books on a specific topic which the student then reads and complete the assignments required for the course.
  2. The course can take anywhere between two months to one year to complete depending on how often the student chooses to compete their reading.

  3. Course length can be anywhere between two months to one year to complete depending on the student’s desire pace.

What Will You Learn?

  1. These courses are designed to deliver parallel dual language instruction to students whose primary language is Spanish. Students view their courses in English and Spanish side-by-side.
  2. All the assignments and exams are in English, however, the lessons are presented in both English/Spanish side by sided
  3. Bilingual Faculty and Staff are available to provide language, academic, and administration assistance.

What Will You Learn?

  1. In an Independent Study Courses the student and the teacher agree upon a topic for the student to research with guidance from the teacher for an agreed upon outcome, time period and number of credits.
  2. The course allows the student to explore their interest and earn 1 academic credit. Students can pursue independent study over multiple years in the same subject or in multiple subjects.
  3. Types of learning include: Directed Reading, Directed Study, Project Based, and Activity Based in any special topic of choice by the student and teacher.

What Will You Learn?

  1. CHS uses Duolingo learning platform as your classroom. Lessons focus on real-life-goals. Developing vocabulary, grammar, and real world language practice.
  2. In addition to lessons, learners can access Tips for explanations on grammar, pronunciation, and helpful phrases.
  3. Interaction, conversations and reading and listening comprehension.

What Will You Learn?

  1. Course offers biblical history, themes and context of Biblical text. Students select books or specific topics to build out their tailored lesson plans.
  2. Each directed reading activity give the student a variety of options from writing assignments, producing a video, or creating a podcast to demonstrate their knowledge.
  3. Course length can be anywhere between two months to one year to complete depending on the student’s desire pace.

What Will You Learn?

  1. The Civics Program expands the traditional view of civic education to the broader concept of “civic learning area”; Civic Knowledge, Civic Skills, Civic Disposition and Call to Action.
    1. Civic Knowledge, classroom taught: US Government, History of Constitution, Bill of Rights and others
    2. Civic Skills. Public speaking, Critical Thinking, How to Understand Arguments, Tolerance as a Basic American Value and others.

What Will You Learn?

  1. This is an opportunity to learning real-world skills through hands-on-service. It is an experience to learn about a better you. An opportunity to help in your community to respond to an immediate need.
  2. This is a one-year, one-credit course . You can spend a year helping with issues in your local community. Opportunities to serve are available in a wide array of areas: disaster relief, local non profits, your church and others.
  3. Addition service areas focus are: youth activities, reading partners; work with YMCA, and other areas of interest.

What Will You Learn?

  1. Young parents learn about Parenting and Child Development and then apply what they have learned to their real life parenting experiences.

FAQ

Students can sign up for up to 6 individual courses at a time. However, CHS suggests no more than three courses if you are currently a full time student or working full time or part time.

Its up to you. Courses can be competed in as little as 28 days (one month). The cost is $59 per month. The quicker you complete the course, the less costly.

Once assignments are received by your instructor they have 24 hours to action your assignment and post the results.

Once assignments are received at CHS, we upload and send your assignments to your instructor within 48 hours. From there, your instructor has 48 hours to grade and complete the submission. CHS will then return your assignment within 48 hours.

Fill out the CHS Guaranteed Transfer Credit Form and present it to your school counselor. Once they approve the Guaranteed Transfer, the counselor will email the document to Citizens Administration Office (request the counselor provide you with a copy) and the CHS will set up the automatic transcript request to be sent once you have completed the course and received a final grade. Our classes are designed to be completed in 16 weeks. Which means you will complete one lesson per week. However, in our self-paced model, if you want to accelerate your pace, it is possible to complete a course in a month. Each of our lessons are engaging and interactive. Yes, Citizens Online High School is regionally accredited through the MSACESS (Middle States Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools). We are also nationally accredited by DEAC (Distance Education Accrediting Commission). Tuition payments will be automatically deducted from your account each month based on the day you enroll. A student who enrolls on the 10th of the month will be automatically charged on the 10th of every month moving forward. 

Our online high school courses are designed to be completed in 16 weeks, with a focus on one lesson per week.  By doubling or tripling the amount of lessons you complete each week, you can finish a course in as little as 28 days.  As long as you are focusing on one lesson per week, it is up to you to set the pace that works best for your schedule.

Grading Scale for CHS courses is as follows:

A = 100% -90%
B = 89% – 80%
C = 79% – 70%
D = 69% – 60%
F = Below 60%

Citizens High School Offline courses can be completed from any location in the world, at any time of the day. You pick the setting and time that works for you. Instead of completing your studies online in front of a computer, the Offline course learning materials are mailed to your location. You are not required to have a computer or internet access to complete CHS Offline courses.
