Citizens' High School is Regionally Accredited through the Middle States Association of Colleges & Schools (MSACESS).

The Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools (Middle States Association or M.S.A) is a voluntary, peer-based, non-profit association that performs peer evaluation and regional accreditation of public and private secondary and elementary schools in the Mid-Atlantic United States. CHS is excited that our institution is deemed worthy of this prestigious honor.

Citizens' High School has been accredited by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) for nearly 40 years. DEAC is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency. 

The Accrediting Commission of DEAC ensures an institution meets the following criteria every five years:

  • An approved program of study
  • Qualified teachers and academic support services
  • Learning and research resources
  • Appropriate administrative capacities
  • Ethical business practices
  • Acceptable admissions standards
  • The capacity to operate on a sound financial basis

DEAC is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).CHEA is a private, nonprofit national organization that coordinates accreditation activity in the United States.  It carries forward a long tradition that the recognition of accrediting organizations should be a key strategy to ensure quality, accountability, and improvement in higher education.
