Improve Your English Language Skills
When traveling or studying in a different country one of the most challenging parts is a having a command of the native language. Here at CHS we want to make sure students do not have any obstacles that prevent them from learning including language acquisition. That is why we are offering a non-obligation course to assist international in learning the English language. By clicking here, you will be able to access our ESOL course to help get you started in learning the English language.

Learn in Two Languages
Learning new concepts can be difficult enough, but learning it at the same time you are learning a new language can be even more difficult. That is why CHS has developed its Bilingual Courses. In these courses you will see the content on the left side in English and then on right side in your native language. All of the assessments will be in English but all of the curriculum will be available in your native language to assist you as you need it going through the course. To see how the courses look and to see how we were able to assist our Spanish speaking students, watch this video.

The teachers were excellent, always willing to help and even offer tutoring to me. The courses were excellent. They were not easy, but not impossible for me to manage by myself. So, (choosing) Citizens High School was one of the best decisions that I have made.

Yes, CHS has a very simple international transfer credit process.  After you enroll in the program you will take our International Student Orientation course.  During this course it will provide instructions on how you will submit your transcripts in order to receive credit for those courses.

Yes, Citizens High School is regionally accredited through the MSACESS (Middle States Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools).  We are also nationally accredited by DEAC (Distance Education Accrediting Commission).  CHS has been nationally accredited for nearly 40 years, making us the second old active nationally accredited distance education high school in the United States.

Yes, while a CHS diploma does not guarantee acceptance into a specific college or university, our diploma is regionally accredited, and our credits are accepted at most public and private universities.  For international students, interested in continuing their education at a 4-year institution, we strongly recommend enrollment in our College Diploma track and verifying the university will accept our credits.

All courses and materials for CHS are completed online.  The only exception to this policy will be in the science courses where hands-on experiments may be conducted using materials found around the home.

Check out our Tradition of Excellence page to see where our grads have attended college.

At time of sign up you will be required to give a credit/debit card.  This card will be charged every 30 days.

CHS is confident you will be satisfied with your choice in education.  Should you change your mind, CHS will refund your tuition according to the following refund policy per the requirements set forth by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission.  Our refund policy is designed for what is in the best interests of both student and parents.

Our courses are designed to be completed in 16 weeks, by taking one lesson per week.  By doubling or tripling the amount of lessons you complete each week, you can finish a course in little as 28 days.  It is up to you to set the pace that works best for your schedule.

Your CHS teachers are here to help!  You can reach out to your teacher via email, telephone, or text message.  On the home page of each course, each teacher provides their listed phone number, be prepared to leave a detailed voice message including your name, course, phone number, and a brief description of your specific question.  Teachers will return your phone call or email within two business days.  Typically, our response time is much faster, and our faculty are eager to support your success.

Yes, Citizens High School aids high school students looking to determine which courses they should take based on their post-high school plans.  By utilizing our Best Future Finder students can map their previous and current course schedule based on the previous courses they have completed and needing to take to earn their diploma.  This tool is free and open to all students.
