Tuition for Online High School Courses | Affordable Online Education

Billing

  • Payments are billed at the same time each month.
  • One-time registration fee is the first month of payment.
  • Students are allowed 16 weeks per course; extensions can be requested.
  • Students (parent/guardian if the student is under 18 years old) can request to withdraw for a full refund if requested within the first 5 calendar days.

The CHS tuition model is simple, all payments are the same amount and are once a month. All students pay equal monthly installments for as long as the student is enrolled, whether the equal monthly payment is for the registration fee, monthly tuition installments, or monthly extension installments, and you may stop at any time. Your first payment at the time of registration is the one-time registration fee, then monthly tuition installments starting the same day of the following month of $149 for the Online Diploma Program. Students in diploma programs at CHS are enrolled in up to 2 courses at a time. Students are allowed 16 weeks to complete the two courses and any course enrolled after the first 2 courses.

Registration Fee

One-time registration fee is the first month of payment. One-time, non-refundable fee per program due at time of submission of the enrollment agreement, the amount below is the only amount you pay at the time of registration:

  • $149 for Diploma for College Online
  • $149 for Diploma for Career Online

Extensions

If a student requests a course extension and is granted an extension from CHS, students will continue to pay monthly extension installments. Extensions simply mean that you are paying the monthly tuition cost for the extended time the student is in the course.

There are no hidden fees or down payment, students work and study at their own pace and complete each course prescribed within the 16 weeks allotted term or up to 40 weeks with extensions, if requested by the student and approved by CHS. If students meet the graduation requirements earlier than in the chart below, Students pay the total program costs for the number of months enrolled.

Course Extensions

Students that do not complete a course before the initial course end date have the option to elect an extension. Students (parent/guardian if the student is under 18 years old) have the option to approve or decline a course extension.  If a student/guardian opts for a course extension and is granted an extension from CHS, students will continue to pay monthly per course extension fees. Extensions simply mean that you are paying the monthly tuition cost for the extended time the student is in the course.

Students are given 16 weeks per course to complete the coursework assigned. With requested extensions, students may be given up to 24 additional weeks, as elected by the student/guardian, and approved by CHS. If students meet the graduation requirements earlier than in the chart below, Students pay the total program costs for the number of months enrolled which could include additional months for each extension requested.  CHS will notify students/guardians via email regarding the extension options 3 weeks prior to each course’s respective end dates.

First Extension Offered by CHS: 4- Weeks

  • One-time, fee billed in month of extension of $149 for students (parent/guardian if the student is under 18 years old) to extend an additional four weeks to any 16-week enrollment or extension period.

Second Extension Offered by CHS: 16- Weeks

  • Four monthly fees, each month during the 16-week extension of $149, as elected by the student (parent/guardian if the student is under 18 years old). This elected extension is only approved for extenuating circumstances and requires academic planning with CHS Academics. This extension allows for additional 16 weeks to complete any 16-week course. Any student that completes courses or withdraws prior to the end date of the 16-week extension will not be billed extension fees for subsequent months of the extension. For example, if a student only needs 8 weeks of a 16-week extension fee to complete a course or to withdraw, CHS will only charge 2 of the 4 monthly installments.

Third Extension Offered by CHS: 4- Weeks

  • One-time, fee billed in month of extension of $149 for students (parent/guardian if the student is under 18 years old) to extend an additional four weeks to the 16-week extension period. All coursework must be completed by the course end date of this extension. Student work will be assessed as follows:
    • If 60% or more of course assignments have been completed and the student has earned a cumulative course grade of 60% or higher, then the course will be completed, and the current grade will be reflected on the student’s transcript.
    • If 59% or less of the student assignments have been completed or the student has earned a cumulative course grade of 59% or below, a grade of F will be reflected on the student’s transcript.

Tuition Fees for Online Career and Online College Diploma Programs

CHS Total Tuition is based on the number of credits needed to graduate after transfer credits at $298 per credit. Also, students start on two courses and are given a contract period of 16 weeks (4 months) for each 1.0 credit course and 8 weeks (2 months) for any .5 credit course.

Examples of Tuition Fees for Online College and Career Programs

For example, CHS accepts your transfer credits and prescribes 8 courses to graduate. For 8 courses you are given a maximum time of 16 months without extensions to complete your courses needed to graduate. If you complete all 8 courses in 5 months, you will only pay the registration fee and 4 monthly tuition installments, which equals $745, not $2,533, which is a 71% savings of $1,788.

  • Tuition is based on the number of credits needed to graduate on each respective diploma program track after considering the amount of transfer credits accepted.
  • Total Program Cost is based on Tuition plus Registration Fee (See chart below)
  • Tuition for Each Course gives access for an initial 16-week term (4 months)
  • Each month, after the one-time registration fee, the student is billed and pays 4 monthly installments of (unless they complete early or withdraw)
    • $149 per month installment for 2 courses ($74.50 per course per month) for College Online and Career Online

The CHS Individual course tuition model is simple, all payments are the same amount and are once a month. All students pay equal monthly installments for as long as the student is enrolled, whether the equal monthly payment is for the registration fee, monthly tuition installments, or monthly extension installments, and you may stop at any time. Your first payment at time of registration is the one-time registration fee, then monthly tuition installments starting the same day of the following month of $99 for the Online Course.

  • $39.60 for ½ Credit Individual Courses Online; $79.20 for 1.0 Credit Individual Courses Online, this fee is included in the first month of tuition charge.

  • One-time, fee billed in month of extension of $99 for Online to extend any 16-week enrollment period.

16- Week Extension Fee

  • Four monthly fees, each month during the 16-week extension of $99 which can be requested in writing by the student or, if under 18, the student’s guardian. This extension is only approved and imposed by the Chief Academic Officer for extenuating circumstances. This extension allows for additional 16 weeks to complete any 16-week course. Any student that completes courses or withdraws prior to the end date of the 16-week extension will not be billed extension fees for subsequent months of the extension. For example, if a student only needs 8 weeks of a 16-week extension fee to complete a course or to withdraw, CHS will only charge 2 of the 4 monthly installments.

Tuition Fees for Individual Courses

Individual Course Tuition is based on the number of individual courses selected in the enrollment agreement and the number of months it takes the student to complete the courses. The Maximum Total Cost of Individual Courses are listed below, based on taking maximum allowed time without extensions:

Possible Fees & Other Charges not required by Enrollment Agreement 

Grade Transcripts/Diplomas

  • No fee is charged for the first official grade transcript issued at the time of graduation. A $4.15 fee per transcript will be charged for the second and any subsequent official grade transcript requests.  
  • No fee is charged for the diploma issued to the student at the time of graduation. A $25.00 fee will be charged to replace a diploma previously issued with another signed original. 
  • International students who enroll in the Offline Program will be charged an additional fee for shipping the course materials. Since the number and size of learning materials differ from course-to-course, the amount that the student will be charged will vary by course. It also should be noted that the time it takes for shipped materials to reach the student will depend upon how long it takes for the materials to clear customs and to be delivered by the postal service in the country in which the student lives.

CHS is a private school and funded through tuition paid by the students, unlike public schools that are funded by the state and federal taxes paid by residents.

Our courses are designed to be completed in 16 weeks, with a focus on one lesson per week. By doubling or tripling the amount of lessons you complete each week, you can finish a course in as little as 28 days. As long as you are focusing on one lesson per week, it is up to you to set the pace that works best for your schedule.
