Nelson Mandela Scholarship Writing Prompts
Writing Prompt 1:
Interview a fellow student, community leader, or religious leader who has experienced some aspect of gender-based violence that sparked that person to recognize the need for greater understanding and action. They can share a personal story and/or reflect their fears and how they moved past it to grow as an individual.
Writing Prompt 2:
Interview a victim of gender-based violence and ask them how that experience has impacted their life. Also include how they managed to overcome this obstacle.
Writing Prompt 3:
Interview a person who is a good example of a person who rejects gender-based violence. Be sure to discuss what makes them a good example and capture their story and the actions they have taken against gender-based violence.
